What is the best island to stay in the Galapagos Islands?

Santa Cruz Galapagos

Santa Cruz Island is the best island to stay by far out of all 4 populated islands. You could see a beautiful 1-mile-long white sandy beach with turquoise water called Tortuga Bay and also you could visit the giant tortoises on their natural state in the Highlands. Active on the day and at night time you also have the best local culinary shops and restaurants, nightlife and commodity.

Daily tours are much faster, closer and easier since this is a central island that has a 42 kilometers road across to reach most islands for a day. Logistically the best. I think if you are going for day-trips then your better bet is Santa Cruz. Just take a look at the geography…Santa Cruz is surrounded by several smaller islands that can be gotten to easily on day trips. San Cristobal, not so much. If you do day trips, the distance by boat will be substantially longer as well (not including time spent waiting in line or customs). Plus I think there are more different areas and dining options on Santa Cruz itself.
